Large grant applications

Owing to unprecedented demand for our funding, and in the interests of distributing grants fairly, we have introduced new criteria for large grant applications of £10,000 or more with a greater emphasis on merit, outcomes and long-term sustainability.

Please note if your request is over £10,000 these large grants are heard in our January and July meetings only.

Large grant applications will be assessed on the strength of the proposal, the outcomes it aims to achieve and the difference the funding will make to the local community. The Trust may consider funding staffing costs, as well as pilot and start-up projects, where these form a strong and integral part of a project that meets the Trust’s criteria.

Applicants will need to demonstrate how projects will be sustained beyond the period of Trust funding. Applications should therefore set out plans for securing other sources of funding, the future direction of the project and, where appropriate, an exit strategy for the Trust’s involvement.

Large grants will normally be finite awards and will not be routinely repeated.

Award applications are heard at our Trustee meetings on the first Tuesday of each month (except August) so all information must be provided promptly to assist with this process or this will be deferred, as it is part of the full decision-making process
